Need to keep motivated? Here’s how!

How often do you find yourself throwing your New Year’s resolution out the window only weeks (or sometimes days) into the year? It’s because changing a habit doesn’t happen overnight – in fact it takes 21 days to create a habit and then only moments to ruin it. Keeping motivated is hard, that’s why here at Boost HQ we stick to 3 simple rules to keep motivation high year-round.

  1. Set your goals

And make sure they are achievable – this means break the ultimate goal into smaller goals that will make it quicker and easier for you to achieve. For example, you want to be able to run 20k in one go? Break it down to running 5k then 10k and so on.

Achieving each goal will keep you super motivated and have you meeting your final goal sooner than you think.

  2. Get a friend on board

They will keep you accountable, and hey a little competition never hurt nobody. Whether it’s to do with your diet, fitness or even school work, you and your BBF can keep each other kicking goals.

  3. Celebrate the wins!

Forgetting on how far you have come will leave you feeling like you’re in a bit of a rut. An achievement deserves a reward and whether it’s buying yourself something small or enjoying a nice long bath, it’s an opportunity for you to reflect on the win and gives you something to look forward to next time.

So, no more excuses, the diet doesn’t start on Monday it starts today.
